About the magazine
Slow journalism from inside the medina. No sponsored riad placements, no affiliate-driven hammam rankings, no AI-spun listicles.
Most of what's online about Marrakech was written by someone who spent three days here in 2017. The prices are wrong, the recommendations are recycled, and the "hidden gems" are on every other blog. Marrakech Mag is the answer to that — written from a riad off Derb Dabachi, updated as the souks change, and willing to say when something is overrated.
What you can trust
- Prices in dirham, dated to the month they were checked.
- Scam mechanics, named and explained — not just "be careful".
- Seasonal stories rewritten each year, not republished from 2019.
- No paid placements. Every recommendation is something the writer would send a friend to.
How this site is built
Plain Rails, no tracking pixels, no cookie banner because there are no cookies. Photographs are credited and used under fair-use review or with permission. If a photo is yours and you'd like attribution adjusted, write us.
