How we rate Marrakech.
No affiliate dollars, no sponsored placements, no inherited press-trip itineraries. Here's exactly how we decide what's worth your time.
We pay for everything
Every meal, every night, every balloon ride. We don't accept comped stays, fam-trip invites, or "in exchange for a review" arrangements. If we can't afford it on our own dime, we don't rate it.
We visit every place we publish
No place appears on this site that one of our writers hasn't physically been to. Show pages carry a "first visited" date and a "last visited" date — if it's been more than 18 months, we say so out loud.
Ratings reflect price tier
A 250-MAD tagine is judged against other 250-MAD tagines, not against Le Foundouk. Our star scale (1–5) is calibrated within the venue's own price band. The price-tier badge ($, $$, $$$) tells you which band you're reading about.
Reviews come from Google + us
Each show page combines verbatim Google reviews (so you can pressure-check the consensus) with our own editor's take. The two sometimes disagree — when they do, we explain why.
No affiliate links, ever
Booking.com, Agoda, GetYourGuide — we don't take affiliate revenue from any of them. Our links are clean. If you find one that isn't, email us; it's a bug.
Corrections welcome
Owners and travellers spot things we miss. Email hello@marrakechmag.com with a correction and we'll update the page (and credit you, if you want).
