Al Khayma Medina Restaurant & Rooftop

We visited this restaurant tonight and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The atmosphere was poor from the start — it was cold inside and we had to keep our jackets on, and the music kept playing for 2–3 minutes and then stopping for long periods, which felt awkward. The prices are very high for what is offered. The food did not match the descriptions at all. My beef was fatty, full of gristle, and also overcooked. The chicken did not taste good, and the vegetables were completely under-seasoned. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the mango smoothie. Service was also very, very slow. We waited a long time just for a juice, and then had to wait again far too long for the food. Although the waiter was very polite, we noticed we were given a different menu than other customers, with fewer dishes available, which felt strange and unprofessional. Overall, this place is overrated and not worth the money. I would not return.

Very slow service. Good part would be that we recieved some complementary soup. Only recieved one part of the menu. The italian and desserts were not presented to us. Music kept playing for 1 minute then 7 minutes off. The silence made the atmosphere feel weird. Food was decent, but not great for the price paid. Beef was supposed to have potatoes served with it - it had none

I had a wonderful dining experience at Restaurant Al Khayma in the Medina of Marrakech The warm and traditional atmosphere immediately made me feel comfortable, and the décor reflects authentic Moroccan style. The food was outstanding rich flavors, generous portions, and beautifully presented dishes. I especially loved the tagine and the freshly made couscous, both perfectly cooked. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, offering great recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect. A great spot to relax, enjoy delicious Moroccan cuisine, and soak in the vibrant ambiance of the medina. Highly recommended

The traditional dishes were tasty, but the grilled rib eye steak was disappointing. I ordered it medium, but it arrived already well done. The waiter insisted it was “just medium,” yet it was served on a sizzling hot plate, which cooked it even further than well done and was so hot I even burned my tongue.

The restaurant is new, and very delicious. They have fusion food. We had chicken in a sauce with mushrooms and a pumpkin soup. Also mango juice which was delicious. I appreciate the warm bread also :)
