I recently visited Safran by Koya and unfortunately, the overall experience did not justify the price point or expectations. To begin with, the staff at the entrance were welcoming and friendly, and the restaurant itself is visually appealing with a well-designed, aesthetic ambiance. However, beyond the initial impression, several aspects fell short. The table arrangement is quite congested, with tables placed very close to each other. This makes movement uncomfortable and reduces privacy, especially for couples looking for a relaxed dining experience. The setting feels more crowded than refined. Service was one of the main disappointments. While not openly impolite, the waitstaff did not demonstrate a customer-centric attitude. There was a constant sense of being rushed, almost as though the focus was on clearing tables quickly rather than allowing guests to enjoy the allocated two-hour dining time. Instead of feeling relaxed, we felt pressured to finish promptly. Additionally, if you are visiting as a couple, there appears to be an expectation to order either two starters and two mains, or two mains and two desserts, which feels restrictive and commercial rather than accommodating. A particularly concerning issue occurred at the time of payment. The waiter added a €10 tip to the bill on his own without notifying us beforehand and strongly encouraged tipping. This approach felt inappropriate and unprofessional, as gratuity should always be voluntary and transparently communicated. The entertainment schedule was also poorly managed. The dance performance was scheduled to begin at 9:00 pm but did not start until approximately 9:45 pm, with no clear explanation for the delay. Regarding the food, it was overall average. The falafel and hummus were enjoyable, and the raspberry cheesecake was good. However, the main courses lacked depth of flavor and did not stand out, especially considering the premium pricing. Marrakesh offers many excellent dining options that provide better value, stronger service standards, and a more comfortable experience at similar or lower prices. In comparison, this restaurant did not deliver an experience aligned with its positioning. Overall, a 2-star experience - aesthetically pleasing but lacking in service quality, value, and professionalism. I would recommend exploring alternative restaurants in Marrakesh that offer a more balanced and customer-focused dining experience.
Despite of the long queue and wait to be seated, Nourdine one of the staff made it possible for us to enjoy the experience and make sure out needs are met. I recommend you arrive before your actual time booking to prevent waiting for too long. But over all this restaurant is 10/10 great service, food and atmosphere. The alcohol is also the best part! 🤣😉✌🏼 Also very affordable! Higly recommended!
A very vibrant and eventful restaurant, full of music, dance and happiness. Very busy despite the fact that it was in Ramadan. Food was great, service was very good and staff were very kind and helpful. Just one small criticism, the booking team might need a little bit of more organisation as it was a little bit confusion in the beginning that when we can get the table and where, it's understandable, it's mad busy in there, well done anyway. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Beautiful restaurant in marrakech with stunning interior and great atmosphere. We ordered the beef tanjia and chicken supreme with truffle mash - the food was delicious and service was good too. There were two live performances during our visit which were super fun. Would recommend if you’re visiting! You do have to reserve in advance
It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth visiting at least once. The atmosphere is kinda dressy, with people wearing heels and stylish outfits. We were there with our running shoes though. If you come in your nicest clothes and just enjoy the night, you’ll have a great time here. My friends and I really enjoyed ourselves. The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and octopus dish was especially outstanding. The cocktails were also really good overall, and the live performance made the night even more fun.
